I wish I could recall a majority of what I learned at CRTE but I don't. However, CRTE kept me reading my Bible, learning about God, and desiring to please God in all I participated in. As I reflect by on my childhood I am amazed at the loving care of my heavenly Father through the weekly classes of CRTE. Although my father was not a Christian and I was not required to attend church I attended because my desired was to please God. I was blessed to participate in CRTE for two years. I was sad when I learned that CRTE was not available for Jr. High School students. I missed CRTE tremendously when I attended Jr. High School. I thank God for CRTE and I pray that God will grace the organization to continue until He returns. My prayer is that CRTE will be allowed for Jr. High School kids as well soon.
I was introduced to Christian Released Time at LaSalle Elementary School. My 5th grade teacher informed us of CRTE and I was elated. Although born in California, I had been living with my Aunt in Greenwood, Ms since the age of 6. She introduced Christ to me when I was six years old. I accepted Christ and was baptized. However at age 10; I came to visit my father and never left. My father was not a Christian. However, I thank GOD for CRTE because I was able to still grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Christ. I enjoyed the weekly classes. My teacher was so much fun. She challenged us kids to live for God, to be obedient in class, obedient to our parents, and to tell a friend about Christ. She never dismissed us or allowed a kid to not participate. She took all kids (even the bad ones to our dismay). CRTE was a blast. I loved memorizing the scriptures and receiving the buttons. My friends and I competed against each other. I still have some of my CRTE class work!
I wanted to learn the Word of God in a deeper level, so I enrolled to study at the Los Angeles Bible Training School(LABTS), which has been a tremendous blessing in my life. During one of our worship (chapel) times at LABTS, we had a guest speaker who shared with us about the children’s ministry, CRTE. I was blown away to find out that with parental permission, that we could actually pick up the students from a local public school and take the children to a nearby church to teach them the Bible and to share the gospel with them. My heart was totally convicted. I knew that I wanted to serve in any way and be a part of this beautiful ministry!
I truly thank God for giving me the opportunity to serve beside all the amazing volunteer teachers and assistants who love the Lord and who love the children. Not only are the children whom we serve coming to know Jesus Christ and desiring to study the Bible, but I am also learning so much alongside them through the CRTE lessons. I pray and hope that many children will receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and that they will share the good news with all their friends and family member, that at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!

I have been exposed to CRTE while I was in the workplace and knew I wanted to work in this ministry when I retired from the government. I started as an Escort with CRTE and began teaching as a substitute. I've been with CRTE for approximately 10 years. Working with the children over the past years has been a wonderful and challenging experience, seeing life changing in the students from the beginning of a year to the closure of the year. Christmas and Resurrection time is one of the most beauty of the Birth of Christ and the Resurrection of Christ unto Salvation. Interacting with the children in teaching God's Word is the most gratifying experience I've encountered. Establishing a relationship with the children is always a memorable experience. CRTE has been a blessing to me as well as teacher aides. I am grateful for the opportunity God has granted me as a worker in this program.

Caroline is a recent born again Christian who is learning more about God's love, His love for the children, and His will for us all as a student at the Los Angeles Bible Training School. Caroline loves to dance, snowboard, horseback ride, scuba dive, eat, and use power tools. She previously worked in real estate for various local government agencies and lives in Silver Lake with her dog and cat.
